Seamus
Hey, I'm Seamus Roberts. I am currently a senior of the Astronomy Viewing Program. Photographing deep-space objects can be humbling and can be a reminder of the mysteries of the cosmos. I am pursuing mechanical engineering and enjoy working with these precise instruments that make this photography possible. It is an incredible opportunity to take advantage of, and is a passion I hope I will be able to continue after high school.
Mia
Hello, my name is Mia Colombo, and I am a sophomore in the Astronomy Observation program! I am excited to be in this program because of the opportunity for hands-on learning about astronomy. Even when things go wrong, the troubleshooting process is fascinating and incredibly rewarding. The only thing more fun than coaxing an image out of darkness is doing it all while belting the Sun Song!
Ashley
Hi! My name is Ashley Isenberg and I’m a senior in the astronomy observation program. I have always loved looking up at night and seeing the stars so being able to see and photograph deep space is amazing. It’s fun to see the process behind taking photos of space, especially colorizing the layering them. There is something so satisfying about standing for hours in the cold, then adding color to the photos and stacking them to see the beautiful image..
Jack
Hi! My name is Jack Petrie and I am a current Senior in the Observation Program at Gig Harbor High School. Working in this program has been a major experience offering a vastly improved understanding of how to pursue astrophotography and scientific inquiry. Following this year I am intending on pursuing a degree in physics and astronomy where the skills gathered here will be of great service to my future career in the academic sciences.
